About FSBOLaw(SM) FSBOLaw.com is the creation of Massachusetts Attorney Joseph P. DiBlasi. In doing research for his books, The Complete Kit to Selling Your Own Home (Sourcebooks 2003) and Sell Your Home Without A Broker (Sourcebooks 2006), and in discussions with those who have read the book, Attorney DiBlasi observed that many prospective home sellers desired to pursue selling their own home without paying the significant cost of a full-service broker. Many, however, were unsure of the process and feared the unknown. Some were concerned that they would be unprotected without a broker. Some were unsure where to obtain the correct forms and how best to fill them out. Others struggled with determining a listing price and developing a marketing plan for their home. Consequently, despite their preference, selling their home by themselves was not a viable option.

Similarly, those owners who have made the attempt to sell their own homes also have encountered setbacks. A for-sale-by-owner (or FSBO) seller, by definition, does not have a broker assisting him in the process. Moreover, a real estate attorney traditionally is retained to assist only if and when the FSBO seller found a buyer and accepted his offer. Of course, up until that point, the FSBO seller may have made some very significant mistakes that even may be irreversible.

The concept of FSBOLaw(SM) was created specifically for both these types of sellers. FSBOLaw(SM) provides the prospective home seller with the counsel, tools, and methods to make selling his own home a very viable option. For an attractive flat fee, Attorney DiBlasi, who is also a Massachusetts Real Estate Broker, and his experienced staff, work with the home owner from the outset to provide a package of services traditionally provided by a real estate broker and a real estate attorney. As a result, the FSBO seller: 1) is protected with the representation and counsel of a seasoned and caring real estate attorney from the beginning, 2) may exploit well-researched, tested, and creative marketing methods; and 3) saves potentially thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars from the cost of using a traditional real estate broker.
